WYNN Tip: Using
Broadcast Documents and Broadcast Settings
Beginning with WYNN 7, to Broadcast Documents or Broadcast Settings, you must log in as a user with Teacher permissions. Refer to the Tip Sheets about setting up teacher accounts for more information.
For WYNN 6 and earlier, you must log in as “Shared” (without quotes).
When you are logged in as a user with Teacher permissions (WYNN 7) or as Shared (WYNN 6 and earlier), two additional options will become available on your Advanced menu that are not present when logged in as any other user: “Broadcast Settings” and “Broadcast Documents.”
- Create, open or scan a
document you want to make available to all users on the system.
- Save the
document with a descriptive name.
- Close the
document. (This is very important; you cannot broadcast an open document.)
- From the Advanced menu,
choose Broadcast Document. Select the document(s) you want to broadcast from the list of files, then press the Broadcast button. WYNN will display a message saying your file(s) have been sent.
Note: You may broadcast multiple files at once by pressing the CTRL key while selecting your file.
- When the
user logs in and clicks the Open button from
the Blue toolbar, the file will show up in
the list of files.
- Create the settings you want to make available to all users on a system.
Examples of Settings you may wish to broadcast are a customized tool bar,
your home page as the default home page when using the Internet, or the pronunciation
- From the Settings Menu, Save the
Settings with a descriptive name.* By default, all active settings will be saved. If you only want to save certain types of settings, such as speech settings, uncheck all settings, then select just the settings type you want.
- From the Advanced Menu,
choose Broadcast Settings. Select the settings file(s) you want to broadcast from the list of files, then press the Broadcast button. WYNN will display a message saying your file(s) have been sent.
- When the user logs in, the settings will be able to be retrieved from the Settings menu.
